Fat dissolving injections use a deoxycholic-acid–based solution to break down the membrane of fat cells in a small, well-defined pocket. The released contents are cleared by the body over the following weeks and the treated cells do not return.
This is a contouring treatment for a specific pocket — most often under the chin — in a patient who is otherwise close to their target weight. It is not a weight-loss injection and it is not suitable for large areas. Patient selection is most of the result, so we assess carefully and say no when it is not the right tool.
