PRP uses your own blood. A small sample is drawn, spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and the growth factors they carry, and then injected back into the scalp or skin. Because the material is autologous there is no risk of allergy or rejection.
For hair, PRP is one of the better-evidenced non-surgical options for early to moderate thinning — it strengthens existing follicles and can slow the pattern of loss. It works best alongside medical management of the cause, whether that is androgenetic pattern loss, iron deficiency or thyroid dysfunction. We investigate before we inject.

Blood draw

PRP is injected into the scalp at follicle depth, or micro-injected into facial skin, sometimes with microneedling.
For early to moderate thinning with follicles still present, yes — it is among the better-evidenced non-surgical options for reducing shedding and improving density. Where follicles are already scarred over and the scalp is smooth, PRP cannot regrow hair, and we will tell you that rather than take your money.
Four to six sessions four weeks apart, then maintenance every three to four months. Results are progressive and require you to complete the course — one or two sessions will not show meaningful change.
Scalp injections are the more uncomfortable of the two, and we use cooling and topical numbing to manage it. Most patients rate it as very tolerable, with tenderness for a day afterwards.
It is very safe because it uses your own blood, prepared in a closed sterile system with single-use kits. The main considerations are correct technique, sterility, and confirming you have no bleeding or platelet disorder — all covered in your assessment.
Yes, and it usually should be. PRP works best alongside treating the underlying cause and, where appropriate, prescribed topical or oral medication. PRP alone against untreated pattern loss is fighting uphill.
