A thread lift uses fine, dissolvable polydioxanone threads — the same material as surgical suture — introduced under the skin to reposition tissue that has descended. Barbed threads grip and lift; smooth mono threads add support and stimulate collagen along their path.
It sits in a useful gap. Filler adds volume but does not lift; energy devices tighten but cannot reposition. Threads physically move tissue upward, without incisions or general anaesthetic, which makes them the right answer for patients with real descent who are not ready for surgery.

The threads themselves dissolve within six to eight months, but the collagen they stimulate holds the effect for around twelve to eighteen months in most patients.
